Criminal Defense Attorney: Defending the Rights of the Accused and the Incarcerated
Posted on Sep 30, 2013

The Texas Parole Board has denied Laura Hall again.  Laura Hall was convicted of evidence tapering and hindering apprehension for her actions surrounding the murder of Jennifer Cave in Austin Texas in 2005.   Jennifer Cave, a University of Texas student, was found stabbed, shot, and partially dismembered in an apartment in Austin.  Prosecutors claimed that Hall assisted the murderer in mutilating the body and then helped him escape to Mexico.  Initially Ms. Hall was sentenced to five years in TDCJ and she appealed the decision.  As a result of her appeal the conviction was upheld but the sentencing was redone and the jury sentenced her to ten years.

Ms. Hall was eligible after receiving credit for one quarter of her sentence.  The board first denied her parole in 2011.  She was given a one year set off then denied again in 2012 and again this year in 2013.
