Mandatory supervision is discretionary form of parole available to eligible offenders. Although an offender has a higher chance of being granted mandatory supervision than parole it is still decided by the Parole Board Member. An offender is considered for mandatory supervision when their actual calendar time and good time are equal to the length of their sentence. The parole panel can reject an offender for mandatory supervision. If granted, an offender will be on mandatory supervision for the remainder of their sentence.
