Saturday a nineteen-year old teen from Kingwood passed away in Washington County.  A Washington County Sherriff’s deputy performing a routine traffic stop on 290 near Brenham arrested her and the driver after finding drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.  According to Chief Deputy Jay Petrash when they arrived at the jail they noticed she looked and had started shaking.  The teen told them she had swallowed a bag of methamphetamine.  She was rushed to the hospital in Brenham but tragically her death was announced at 4:30am.  The Texas Rangers is investigating the death.  The teen was a college student and swim team coach.  It remains unclear how much of the drug was in the bag and when the baggie was swallowed.
