Lohan Faces Another Court Date in Criminal Matter

Posted on Jan 16, 2013

Celebrity actress Lindsay Lohan’s legal troubles are not over yet. The young star currently faces a probation revocation hearing. This is not the first time Ms. Lohan has appeared in criminal court in recent years.

Los Angeles, California, prosecutors recently asked a judge to revoke Ms. Lohan's probation and to schedule a hearing that could lead to the actress’s return to jail. Ms. Lohan has been on probation for a 2011 necklace theft matter. But she may be sentenced to 245 days in jail if a judge finds that she committed a probation violation.

This filing came one day before Ms. Lohan was scheduled to be arraigned on three misdemeanor charges stemming from a June 2012 car crash. It is alleged that Ms. Lohan lied to Santa Monica police about being a passenger in her Porsche when it crashed on the Pacific Coast Highway. She allegedly was drove recklessly and obstructed a police officer from performing duties in connection with an investigation into the crash.

While Ms. Lohan’s conduct has made her a target for many jokes, being accused of violating probation terms is no laughing matter. A person who has been accused of violating the terms of a probation order needs the help of an experienced criminal law attorney.
