Criminal Defense Attorney: Defending the Rights of the Accused and the Incarcerated

Clara Harris was denied parole on her first parole eligibility date.  Clara Harris, whose story has been made into television movies, was convicted of killing her husband by running over him with a car.  A private investigator hired by Harris to investigate her suspicions that her husband was having an affair videotaped the incident.  Harris had tracked her husband and his mistress to the hotel where the incident took place.  The jury found her guilty and after making a sudden passion finding they sentenced her to the maximum of twenty years.  She has served more than ten years of the twenty-year sentence.  She has been serving her sentence at a unit near Gatesville and has a job there working on textbooks for blind children.  The parole gave a boilerplate reason for why they denied her parole stating they based their decision on the nature of the offense. Harris was given a two year set off and will be considered for parole again in 2015.

If you have a loved one who is currently incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System and would like information in regards to how you can help them obtain a favorable parole vote please contact us.
