Q
What should I do if I think there's a warrant for my arrest in Brazoria County?

A

There are two things you need to do if you think there is a warrant out for your arrest in Brazoria County:

            1)    Find out if there is a warrant by calling a bonding company or the sheriff’s office.

            2)    Call an experienced criminal defense attorney

If there is a warrant out for your arrest it means that a Judge has been presented with enough evidence that you committed a crime that the Judge thinks the case should go forward against you.  As a result of the Judge finding probably cause that you committed a crime an arrest warrant was issued.  Depending on many factors the police may or may not come to your house looking for you.  Often individuals are arrested on warrants as a result of a chance encounter with police officers.

If you find out there is an arrest warrant out for you in Brazoria County make sure you find out what you are accused of and the amount of your bond.  We also recommend asking for a case number.  It is possible, on most offenses, to post a non-arrest bond.  To do this you post the bond and the bonding company walks you through the process so you can avoid be arrested and having to spend time in jail.  After posting the bond you will get a court date and can fight the case.

If there is a warrant out for your arrest in Brazoria County or you are concerned there may be a warrant for your arrest in Brazoria County please call us at 713-651-1444 or fill out an online contact form.  Just because there is a warrant does not mean you have been found guilty or committed any offense.  You need an experienced Brazoria County defense attorney to protect your rights and defend you against the charges.
